Memo's Power

Memo has the power to turn figments of imagination and memory into "reality," via illusions. The illusions grow stronger when more people share the same mental reality. In the case of this event, it's most relevant in how Memo can create monsters. She could essentially bring a Boogeyman to life, using the fact it is a popular urban myth that exists in many peoples' minds.

 

The Boogeyman Event

So bringing a Boogeyman to life is exactly what Memo will be doing. Prior to the event actually starting, Memo will anonymously hit the Network to spread rumors of "Monsters" that exist in every city. She will also try to submit articles to the newspaper and start rumors among the native population. 

When the event starts, Memo's power will bring her Boogeymen to life... But it won't go entirely as she planned. Instead of creating one very powerful monster, Memo will create multiple smaller, less powerful monsters. They will appear slightly differently depending on who they are stalking, and whose fears they are draining at the time.

Basically, any mun who wants their character to fight a Boogeyman monster will be able to NPC one of Memo's illusions. There are, however, some consistent rules across all of the monsters:

1. These are illusions. They are not solid beings, but psychic energy. They don't make sound and can change form on a dime.
2. They are weak, but plentiful. It's possible to defeat them. They can put up a moderate fight, but aren't invincible. They will become stronger if their targets are terrified of them.
3. They cannot cause serious injury. There should be no death or serious maiming in this event. 
4. The details are flexible from mun to mun, but they should be legitimately terrifying. They reflect the fears of those around them, so you may tailor them to suit the character they are stalking if you really want.
5. If someone traces their energy, they will find they are made up of collective psychic energy from many people. It's impossible to link them back to Memo, who is only manifesting other peoples' fears.
6. They cannot be captured. 
7. They will only stalk pendent bearers. They do not pursue those without fears.

Event Schedule

Preferably sometime after Valentines. I'd like some time for Memo to build up the event with the newspaper, rumors, and posting on the Network. I would be trying to use this to build OOC hype and IC tension, so I would like to announce the event long before it actually takes place.
